 Spoon brake pads feature high resistance to fading, excellent performance at low temperatures, near stock life expectancy, and low rotor wear. These properties are achieved through a combination of pad material and unique backing metal design.

Spoon brake pads provide strong braking power while maintaining stable, consistent, and direct driving feel. This allows drivers to enter corners smoothly. The operating range is 50 - 700C, while the optimum rotor temperature is between 200 - 300C.

Note: DC5 Type-R pads are not compatible with USDM RSX Type-S calipers. However,  S2000 front pads are compatible with USDM RSX Type-S front calipers as they share the same pad shape/style.
