The new 2.4L Boxer motor (FA24D) powering the newest generation of the 86 definitely shored up some of the weaknesses of the original FA20. However, the car still suffers from a cooling system that isn’t adequate for high performance driving. We can only assume the new 86 will have a similar following and customer base as the first generation. That means tons of track days and autocross events that will push the cooling systems to the their limits. So why not get ahead of the curve?
