Spoon Monoblock calipers are manufactured by Nissin, the OE supplier of all Honda brakes. This caliper adopts the use of the larger 300mm OE Honda Discs and is made from a single piece casting, increasing caliper rigidity and strength.
The Spoon Monoblock 4-pot caliper has been specifically designed and tested for Honda applications. Unlike other 4-pot calipers, Spoon calipers are direct fit and are designed to work with the stock brake system, including the ABS. Spoon calipers use stock Honda size brake pads, which gives users incredible flexibility in choosing pads and controlling future costs. The Monoblock 4-pot calipers significantly improve both high speed braking and brake pedal feel and its consistency during track use.
The 4-pot design also makes pad wear more even and minimizes rotor warpage. The aluminium construction greatly reduces un-sprung weight. These benefits are achieved while maintaining a stock feel for daily driving.
The Monoblock caliper utilizes standard pad profile and 300mm Disc. Due to this, there is a wide range of compound options at affordable prices. Spoon does however recommend the installation of Spoon Pads and slotted or cross drilled rotors.
Spoon Monoblock Calipers for 04-08 CL7 will require installation of
Spoon Rotors to complete monoblock caliper fitment.
Note: Spoon does not offer a specific Monoblock application for the 91-06 NSX front brakes (fwd mounted). However, NSX enthusiasts have found the 04-08 Accord CL7/CL9 TSX Monoblock forward mounted calipers (45020-MBF-G00) work perfectly fine for the 91-06 NSX users. Note: NA1 owners will need to run NA2 rotors for this to work.
